Hotel Birger Jarl
Mission

About the project
Since 2011, PMI has had the privilege of being part of Hotel Birger Jarl’s development through a long-term partnership. Over the years, we have carried out numerous projects, ranging from hotel rooms and suites to the lobby, restaurant, and gym. Our assignments have varied from developing design concepts and interiors to managing the entire renovation process as a turnkey contractor.
For turnkey projects, PMI manages the entire process—from the removal of existing interiors and demolition work to the renovation of floors, walls, and ceilings, as well as logistics, project planning, and the delivery and installation of new furnishings. When selecting products and materials, great emphasis is placed on design, sustainability, quality, and durability.
Over the years, hundreds of hotel rooms have been modernized, alongside several of the hotel’s common areas. The result is a refined Scandinavian design where function, comfort, and timeless aesthetics create a cohesive experience throughout the hotel.
Results
A long-term collaboration in which the hotel has gradually evolved through sustainable solutions and a cohesive design that strengthens both its identity and the guest experience.

Best Western Hotel Karlshamn

About the project
PMI has enjoyed a long-standing partnership with Best Western Hotel Karlshamn Spa & Relax. Over the course of several years and three distinct phases, we have been entrusted with developing the hotel’s interiors. In the most recent phase, we created a new concept for seven guest rooms, aiming to establish a clear connection to the hotel’s restaurant and communal areas.
Building on the hotel’s existing identity, we developed an interior design concept featuring a warm and expressive color palette. Through patterned feature walls, carefully selected textiles, and custom-designed details, we created hotel rooms with a distinct character and a harmonious overall feel.
PMI was responsible for concept development, detailed design, room specifications, product selection, and delivery of the interior furnishings. The hotel’s own staff carried out the installation and surface finishing work based on the documentation and planning we provided.
Results
Seven hotel rooms with a warm and inviting atmosphere, where the design links the rooms to the aesthetic of the restaurant. Custom solutions and carefully selected materials served to strengthen the hotel’s identity and the guest experience.

Best Western Hotel Vidöstern

About the project
Following the renovation of 58 hotel rooms in 2022, the collaboration between PMI and Best Western Hotel Vidöstern continued when the hotel added a new floor. PMI was involved as early as the planning stage, contributing design expertise and input on floor plans before construction began. This early involvement laid the groundwork for efficient execution and a well-conceived overall result throughout the project.
At the same time, PMI was responsible for the concept, color scheme, and interior design of the hotel’s conference areas, gym, and spa. The goal was to create a cohesive environment where guest rooms and communal areas harmonize in terms of both design and function, while ensuring that each part of the hotel retains its own distinct identity.
A key part of our work is the meticulous preliminary planning. Through detailed documentation—including measurements, images, and room descriptions—we create a comprehensive library of images and materials that simplifies both the project execution and future updates.
Results
A modern hotel where guest rooms, conference facilities, a spa, and a gym form a cohesive whole. Through a long-term partnership, the hotel has been developed using sustainable solutions that create value for both the business and its guests.

Mission

About the project
When Hotell Fridhem faced an extensive renovation and expansion, PMI was entrusted with developing the concepts, design plans, and interiors for the hotel’s new spaces. The project encompassed four floors—including guest rooms, corridors, and the breakfast room—as well as new guest rooms created by converting former apartments, offices, and other areas. The hotel’s bathrooms were also completely renovated, and new room number signs were designed as part of the hotel’s updated visual identity.
PMI developed design concepts and handled the planning for both the hotel rooms and the common areas. We were responsible for the delivery and installation of the furnishings, while surface finishing work—such as painting and carpeting—was carried out by other contractors.
All floors share a common design language but differ through distinct color themes, where walls, details, and corridor carpets work together to give each floor its own identity.
Results
A modern and cohesive hotel where each floor has its own character, while the shared design creates a unified overall experience for guests.
